Dear Parents

The last two newsletters sent out have been difficult to read via mobile phone.  I am therefore resending both newsletters in our orignal font.

Important dates for your diary

A reminder that Parents Evening is on Wednesday 24th April 2019, please see your child’s keyperson to arrange an appointment.

At this time of year, we begin our place planning for the Summer and start to think about our Transition work with the children who will be leaving us to continue their journey into Nursery Class or Reception class.  With this in mind, we would like to inform you of two events we will holding at the nursery which you might find helpful.

Childcare options – 30 hours

Following on from our survey earlier this year regarding the expanding provisional 30 hours funding options for nursery class age children, we have decided to hold an ‘informal chat’ evening on Wednesday 1st May from 5.30pm – 6.30pm.  This will be an opportunity for any parents who would like to pop along to chat about the options available locally for 30-hour places.

Transition Workshop

On Tuesday 21st May we will be holding a Transition Workshop from 6.30pm – 8.00pm.  This is for parents who have children moving onto Nursery Class or Reception.  The journey from nursery to school will create challenges, as well as excitement, for the children and you as parents.  At this time much uncertainty is experienced which can, if not supported, lead to anxieties.  We have some top tips to change uncertainty into some certainty, which will hopefully lead to a less stressful time for all.

  • If your child is of compulsory age this summer and will therefore be leaving us it would be very helpful, for planning purposes, if you can give us as much notice as possible of your intended leaving date.
  • If your child is NOT of compulsory school age but you are considering or have decided to take up Nursery Class place for your child, again please let us know as soon as possible for our planning purposes, even if you are not sure yet of your leaving date.
  • Also, if your child is staying with us but you are thinking of increasing their sessions from the summer please put your request in writing as soon as possible to ensure we include your request in our place planning.

GDPR Inclusion Statement

To enable us to continue to develop and extend opportunities to all children at 4 Street Nursery with the support of our outstanding Hillingdon Local Authority Inclusion team, we will shortly be sending out a new form which we ask you to sign and return to us immediately.

Please join us in welcoming Marta to the team.  Marta has a teaching degree and a postgraduate qualification in Speech & Language Therapy, and we are sure she will be a great asset to the team.
